Mac OS X 10.5.3: sync Google Contacts →
Holy. Crap. We need to start running Tiger (OS X.5) at home.
Update: apparently I need an iPhone as well… But it still bodes well! The idea of having synchronized contacts in my google account and my local address book makes me a little wet.

At some schools, failure goes from zero to 50 →
First off, I find this depressing. As someone who occasionally forgot to turn in papers, I had all kinds of ‘zeros’ to overcome, but could still manage to pass. If I had turned in all my homework and then gotten an automatic fifty on tests, I would have passed just as easily.
I think the teachers probably should re-think their grading systems if this is really an issue. And if kids...

Productive!
Dorothy has left me this weekend to go have fun in other parts of Ohio. She won’t be up for trips for much longer- only two months and six days until we get to meet our newest family member!
My dad came over to help out today. How awesome. We got the master bedroom primed. On a whim, I purchased a masonry primer that’s supposed to be good at filling in pits and cracks—our walls...
Sad Twitter
It seems as though twitter is down. Apparently this happens from time to time. This is the first time it’s happened since I’ve started using it, and I must say, it makes me sad.

Use your iPhone to slim down your wallet →
tgumbel:
As if buying an iPhone doesn’t slim down your wallet enough. This guy made an album on his iPhone specifically for his scanned in membership cards. The cool thing is that the barcode still scans. A cool way of consolidating those rarely used cards that make your wallet uncomfortable to sit on.

Personality
Ages ago, I took this Meyers-Briggs Personality Test for Programmers and bookmarked the result. I was cleaning up bookmarks today and found this link to my personality profile (ENTP). Kind of eerie reading a description of myself written by someone that I’ve never met.

I’ve heard rumors about how the black squirrels arrived in the Cleveland area forever. Now that I’ve seen it in Wikipedia, I know they’re all true! (citation needed)

Seemed Like a Good Idea
This is the railroad bridge I walked across with my friend when I was in college. We joked about that scene in Stand By Me where Gordy is almost run down by a train on a bridge. Halfway across, we heard a train horn. We looked back and way down the track we saw a train, with a plume of smoke rising up.
We ran. Fast.
Once we got to the other side, we looked back again and saw that the train...
